Description:Shanghai Medical University founded in 1927.The university was originally called “The Fourth Zhongshan University Medical School”and renamed in 1932 “The National Shanghai Medical College”.After the founding of the People’s Republic of China,it was renamed in 1952 “Shanghai First Medical College”.In 1959,it was designated by the central government as one of the sixteen national key instutions of higher learning.Shanghai Medical University was given the present name in 1985.
