Beginning July 1, the front and rear areas and doors of buses in Beijing will no longer have advertising, according to the latest standards provided by the Beijing Quality Supervision Bureau, reports the Beijing Daily Messanger.
The advertising regulation is applicable for buses with a length of six meters or more.
The bureau's manual also has speed, noise and air conditioning limitations for different vehicles. For instance, the maximum speed of trolleys must be slower than 50km per hour, buses on express lanes must keep inner noise under 76 decibels and give room to strollers and wheelchairs, while community busses must be equipped with cooling and heating systems.
The bureau also stated that new buses must be able to travel over 3,000 km without any malfunction.
This is the first time that China's capital has stipulated regulations on bus classification and capacity assessment.
