After the Spring Festival, Beth, an Australian girl who has been in Nanjing for half of a year will go back hometown. Beth said that she has many beautiful memories in Nanjing. She made many Chinese friends and learned playing Ping Pong and tasted battercake.
When the reporter arrived at Beth¡¯s home, she was eating a plate of boiled dumplings. She said she liked various Chinese foods. 15 years ago, Beth studied at senior high school. One day, her best friend told her she would learn Chinese. Beth promised that she would learn Chinese with her friend. She wanted to learn speaking Chinese and went to China to eat foods. "When I was 11 years old, I went to Singapore with my good friend and her family. The traditional foods there were very delicious. My friend told me that these were traditional Chinese foods. So I decided to learn Chinese with my friend."
A year and a half ago, Beth was dispatched to work in Nanjing. She tasted many Chinese foods and liked battercake very much. "At first, I was used to buy sandwiches as breakfast. On one morning, I found battercake and bought it. The flavor was great!"
Besides of battercake, Beth also favored Chinese bean curd. Talking of Chinese New Year, Beth was excited. "I celebrated Chinese New Year in the family of Chinese fried for the first time. Chinese people are great. There were so many dishes. Chinese people are happy during the Spring Festival."
