At the 1st China International Air Routes Summit held between June 28th and 29th in Guangzhou, Liu Zijing, President of the Guangdong Airport Management Corporation, said that the Baiyun Airport can handle 30 million passengers this year. It is estimated that by 2010, the Baiyun Airport will develop into a comprehensive major airport in Asia and Pacific regions, operating nearly one hundred international flights and realizing handling capacity of 40 million person-times. Therefore, it will be one of the 20 major international airports. If so, the airport will bring in USD1.3 billion and create 25 thousand jobs.
