La Seine (Saina He Faguo Canting)
Though this restaurant in the Somerset Grand service apartments has found itself eclipsed by the recent arrival of brand name French restaurants, it's still popular with those seeking tasty but reasonably priced snails and pate. Decor is a funky sea of purple, from the walls, adorned with French posters, to the thick drapes and plush high-backed chairs. All the usual French favorites are well represented, with thefoie gras du chefandescargotsappetizers, beef tenderloin, and roasted lamb fillet all making an impression. Weekday buffet lunches (¥68-¥108/$8.50-$13) and weekend buffet brunches (¥98/$12) are an incredible bargain.
