Wuyi Shanzhuang (Wuyi Mountain Villa)
The resort's most prestigious hotel is just across the Chongyang Xi, in a peaceful location at the foot of the Da Wang Feng. It's a collection of chalet-style buildings set around well-maintained gardens, the newest of which is rated four stars. One restaurant overlooks a pool, which is seen through a waterfall that runs off the roof. The first choice for visiting party officials, with photos of various Communist Party leaders all over the walls, this kind of hotel tends to rest on its laurels. This is certainly true here, where service is poor unless you arrive in a cavalcade of red flag limousines.
