| The next AustCham Beijing sourcing group meeting will be held on Monday November 19th at the AustCham Offices. This informal forum gives AustCham Beijing members the opportunity to network with peers and discuss ongoing strengths and hardships in relation to sourcing through China. In recent months the group has grown significantly and is attended by senior executives from a range of companies involved in sourcing through China. This month, Peter Lee, General Manager, CQC-SAI Management Technologies, will be presenting on 'Product quality inspection in China for exporters'. CQC-SAI is a joint-venture between CQC and SAI Global that provides 2nd party auditing and inspection services to a wide variety of organizations. Services include outsource-QA inspections (food, general merchandize), pre-shipment inspections on behalf of overseas buyers, and in-process inspections at China manufacturing plants. The presentation will cover the following points: • Brief history of product inspection in China in modern times • Overview of the current inspection regime - food, bulk commodities, publications, hardlines and electrical • Foreign inspection companies and their role in verifying product quality • SAI Global and CQC/CCIC • Questions and Discussion NB: The venue is subject to change depending on number of attendees |
