Xinzu Binguan (Sunjoy Inn)
Located just a shortwalk from the U.S. Consulate, this three-star hotel was renovated in 2004. Management and staff pride themselves on continued maintenance of the building and guest rooms; clean hallway carpets and unstained sinks -- rarities in all but the priciest hotels -- attest to their sincerity. Guest rooms and bathrooms are medium in size. Furnishing is run-of-the-mill but better maintained than most in this range. The hotel is connected to one of the best non-Chinese restaurants in Chengdu,Tandoor Indian Cuisine.
