Micki Murphy, a German performing artist, with her band of four men named “Us,” settled into CJW Restaurant in The Place for her performance. The group givesospel music performances regularly, and has attracted many Chinese fans.
Us has already performed throughout their hometown in Las Vegas, and they arrived in Beijing only a week ago. Al Clark, drummer and musical director of Us, mentioned he has already been part of many projects including musical director for the Las Vegas Black Music Awards. “I am so glad that Micki brought us all here and gave us a splendid chance to see Beijing ad China,” he said.Nairobi Sailcat plays guitar, and his friend James Wyatt is the bassist. Murphy, now something of the band’s manager, said eijing was a great and inspiring place where arts and culture melt together.
