Hongfu Fandian (Hongfu Palace Hotel)
Housed in the former Jiangxi Guild Hall (300 years old), this new treat of a hotel is the brainchild of two French brothers who also run the French restaurant, Le Vôtre, next door. The spacious guest rooms, though a little dark, are simply decorated with traditional Chinese furniture and comfortable beds. Bathrooms are large and clean. The owners have recently opened their own microbrewery; too bad, I was hoping for Yangshuo's first patisserie.
