Software Engineer for Web Service Development(Reuters)

Job Description :
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced software developer to work in Reuters Development Center in Beijing as part of the Reuters Research group. We develop and maintain software and infrastructure for collection, storage and distribution of financial data. The information is made available to Reuters’s clients through interactive applications and data feeds.

The candidate will work in a group of software engineers responsible, among other, for developing and supporting web services and other components used for data collection, storage and distribution.

As part of a group of software engineers, the candidate is expected to design, develop and test software in close cooperation with the business and management teams overseas and according to specifications. The candidate will be responsible for developing web services, web servers and databases components. We are looking for an engaged candidate who likes to work in and cooperate with a team of other engineers and who has the ability to quickly grasp complex systems.

Job Requirements :
Chinese native speaker is preferred.
Must speak Chinese fluently for foreign applicants.

Key Skills:
• 3-5 years experience
• Good communication skills and proficiency in written English required, in spoken English strongly preferred.
• Microsoft .NET/C#, C++
• MSSQL Database, ADO.NET
• Web Services/SOAP
• Good understanding of XML

Optional Skills:
• ASP.NET
• Experience with enterprise (large-scale) applications
• .NET 3.0, WSE

Education:
• BA or equivalent
