China is making preparations for the launch of a financial futures market and will choose the proper time for the launching, according to the Forth Shanghai Derivatives Market Forum yesterday.
The Chinese futures market has covered metal, energy, chemicals and agriculture products. The implementation of a new regulation on futures transaction and the establishment of a deposit management system have helped regulate the futures market and laid a sound foundation for its further development.
The Pudong District in Shanghai will try to make breakthrough into futures and derivatives trading during the comprehensive reforms.
Held by Shanghai Futures Exchange, the forum was attended by Fan Fuchun, Vice Chairman of China Securities Regulatory Commission, and Wang Xinkui, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Shanghai Committee.
