While the Midi Music Festival rocks fans at Beijing's Haidian Park, another outdoor music festival is taking place at Chaoyang Park in Beijing, starting from May 1.

Rather than the avant-garde rock fans targeted as audiences at Midi, the Chaoyang Pop Music Festival aims to serve a more general public of both young and elder audiences.

Pop singers like Yu Quan, Yang Kun, Yuan Quan, from the Chinese mainland and Angela Chang and Penny Tai from Taiwan, are scheduled to take the stage in Chaoyang Park.

The organizers of this year's "Meet in Beijing" event also brought their highlight programs, including samba from a Brazil dance troupe and European classical music from an Italian dance troupe to join the Chaoyang Park festival.

A lineup of famous online singers like Xiang Xiang and Zhang Zhenyu are invited to perform their famous songs at the festival.

The festival also provides a showground for local amateur dance troupes from Chaoyang district in Beijing to perform classic dances and songs from dozens of countries.

It will last seven days till May 7.
