Agility will take charge of transportation management and exhibition-based logistics coordination at World Expo 2010, the company announced today while signing a deal with Shanghai Expo organizers.
Agility Fairs & Events will coordinate the firm's services at Expo 2010.
Agility is the first foreign logistics service provider appointed by the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination. It will work with two or three other logistics firms to ensure a smooth logistics operation during Expo 2010.
The company has experience in handling logistics at mega events. It was responsible for logistics services at Hanover World Expo 2000, the Athens Olympics in 2004 and the Asian Games in Bangkok in 1998.
Chen Xianjin, deputy director general of the Expo Bureau, said safe, specialized and high-quality logistics services play a significant role in a splendid exposition. Organizers believe Agility would give support to organizers with its advantages in far-reaching information networks and superb services, he added.
Ringo Lau, managing director of Agility Fairs & Events, promised the company would do its utmost to ensure the success of logistics projects in 2010.
