Wen Miao
This decrepit, charming Confucian temple is notable for its exhibition on the Qing dynasty imperial examination system, inside the first hall on the right. A mural at the entrance to the exhibit depicts a mountain of men stepping on each other in an effort to climb the Confucian hierarchy. Inside are reproductions of "cheat sheets" -- pieces of clothing covered in thousands of near-microscopic characters found on Qing-era candidates in Beijing.
