Jile Si (Temple of Bliss)
Jile Si is the largest active Buddhist temple in Heilong Jiang Province, a beautiful complex welcoming tourists but not made for them. Most impressive are the halls on either side of the main pavilion in the northeastern half, each filled with 500 individually carved arhats(luohan),or Buddhist saints. The hall on the right is devoted to Manchu namesake Wenshu Pusa (Sanskrit:Manjusri), the tiger-riding Boddhisattva of Wisdom. There's a smaller temple next door called Puzhao Si that is open on the 1st and 15th day of each Chinese lunar month.
