You'd think a picture menu would help in most restaurants, but in this restaurant's case, it does more to hinder the ordering process with its obscenely blurry photos tucked neatly into an album. But no worries, a plucky waitress will do her best to explain what each photo is in broken English. Try the potato dumplings, therenshenguo(fried ginseng), or if you're feeling particularly adventurous, the yak head for a mere ¥30 ($4). The ambience can't be beat -- a comfy outdoor patio beckons on warm afternoons while the cramped and cozy main room feels like a living room for monks, who hang out and watch TV at all hours of the day.
