Zhonghe Dian (Hall of Middle Harmony)
The second great hall of the outer court houses a smaller imperial throne. The emperor would prepare for annual rites, such as sowing the fields at the Altar of Agriculture (Xian Nong Tan; see Gudai Jianzhu Bowuguan) in spring, by examining the appropriate manuals here.
