Construction of Metro Line 12 will start this year and be completed at the end of 2012, according to Shentong Group, the city's major subway constructor.
The line, linking Shanghai's Qixin Road in Minhang District to Shangchuan Road in Pudong, will stretch 39.5 kilometers through eight districts. It will include 32 underground stations, 14 of which will connect to nine other lines, the group said.
