China International Publishing Group (CIPG) to Publish “I Speak Chinese”

    China International Publishing Group (CIPG), China’s biggest professional foreign publication organization has decided to publish a new Chinese teaching textbook “I Speak Chinese” with Yale University and endeavors to establish a uniform brand for Chinese learning in the world. This textbook is especially designed for foreigners. The signing ceremony was held in Diaoyutai State Guesthouse on May 17th, 2007. 
    This set of Chinese textbooks are targeted at foreign college and high school students who are learning Chinese, as well as foreigners from all walks of life who are working in China or have businesses in China. The Chinese and English versions of the textbooks will be published by the both sides. This will be the first multi-medium publication compiled together with a foreign university. In the next two years, both sides will compile and publish a series of products, including textbooks and electronic teaching materials. Textbooks for Chinese learning on the net will also be developed subsequently to meet the needs of different learners in the different ways they learn Chinese.
    Cai Mingzhao, Deputy-Director of State Council Information Office of the People’s Republic of China, President of CIPG and Lei Wen, President of Yale University signed the memorandum for the mutual cooperation of this program.
It is reported that the number of Chinese language learners all over the world has reached 30,000,000 at this time.
