Mayfair Hotel (Bali Chuntian Dajiudian)
The Hong Kong-managed Mayfair is part of a giant complex comprising service apartments and a massive shopping mall. Located on the southern edge of Zhongshan Park in a newly developing area, the hotel attracts mostly business travelers, but a nearby Metro station makes it accessible enough for the average tourist. With many rooms to fill, the hotel tends to give big discounts (up to 60%), which is a lure as well. Rooms are located in two wings, though the nicer, bigger deluxe rooms are all in the main wing, and are spacious, decorated in warm earth tones, and appointed with all the expected five-star luxuries. Marble bathrooms are a little small but immaculate. Request a room with a view of the park. Service has improved considerably since opening in 2003.
Facilities:3 restaurants; 2 bars; outdoor swimming pool; squash court; health club with Jacuzzi and sauna; concierge; tour desk; business center; shopping arcade; salon; 24-hr. room service; same-day laundry service/dry cleaning; nonsmoking rooms; executive-level rooms.
