While many have seen the latest craze in sushi bars where dishes are pulled around on toy trains with narrow-gauge tracks, here is an improvement on even that idea. All tables (each equipped with their own gas stove) are located alongside a small stream. A succession of small boats floats along and you choose the ingredients that you would like to par-boil in your table-top soup dish. There are plenty of safe choices such as lotus root, potato, duck, and quail eggs; for the more adventurous there is stomach (which strangely resembles bathroom carpet both in texture and taste) and fresh pigs' brains. Best of all it costs ¥38 ($6) for all you can eat including soft drinks. Definitely one of the best deals in town. See the special hot pot glossary in appendix B for more ingredients.
