The cheapest of Chengdu's budget offerings, Sim's is spartan but clean and well-situated -- a good starting point for exploring the city. Staying here is also a great way to mingle with Chengdu locals: It is located on a side street that is not only close to Wenshu Temple, one of the more lively temples in town, but is also filled with seniors playing mahjong on the side of the road. The hotel has communal bathrooms, a common room with a TV and an extensive DVD collection, and a leafy outdoor area with tables and chairs -- ideal in summer to meet fellow travelers. To account for the vagaries of the seasons, ¥10 ($1.25) extra will buy you air-conditioning and ¥5 (65¢) will get you an electric blanket. The hotel staff and the in-house travel agent all speak English.

| Transportation | If you arrive at the North Railway Station Beware, there are two bus terminals near the railway station, one is on the south-east side, and another one is on the south-west side (for taking No.16 / 64 bus) of the railway station: There is a road in front of railway station, wichi is running east-west direction,on this road, opposite side of railway sitation you can find bus No 80, and easy to find our place if you come with this bus. No.80 bus (recommended) Take the No. 80 bus and get off at “Beidajie” （北大街）. Look for a river. When the bus has crossed the bridge over the river, get off and walk 50m south, turn right and walk another 100m. You will see the guesthouse on the right hand side. If you arrive at Chengdu Airport The International terminal is under construction, so the International and Domestic terminals are in the same building. Bus 303 goes from Chengdu airport to the North Railway Station. Ask to get off the bus at Wenshu Temple (6 RMB, 45 minutes) on Renminzhonglu (人民中路) just before Wanfu Bridge(万福桥). Note, there are two different bus lines at the airport that have the number 303! When you come out of the airport building, the Airport bus 303 is right in front of you. Don't get this one. Look for the 'public transport Service bus 303 terminal' which you will find just after walking under the flyover. Walk beyond Airport bus 303 towards the north-east for about 90 m and get on Service bus 303. When you get off, walk back the way the bus came about 200m, and you will find the way to the temple (the red wall) on your left. | ||||||||
