Radisson Hotel Shanghai New World(Shanghai Xin Shijie Lisheng Dajiudian)
Opened in 2005, Shanghai's second Radisson hotel is a five-star aspirant, but its service falls a little short of the service at top hotels in this category such as the Westin and the JW Marriott. What it does have is the best hotel location in town, right next to the Nanjing Lu Pedestrian Mall and directly across from People's Square. Navigation in the hotel can be a bit confusing, however, as there are two towers that are not particularly well connected: a front-end nine-story Park Tower where the lobby and restaurants are located, and a 47-story City Tower capped by a flying saucer with most of the hotel rooms. Furnished in a contemporary style, the average-size rooms are perfectly comfortable and well appointed with all the usual five-star amenities, including free broadband Internet access. The staff tries hard but is still a bit inexperienced.
Facilities:
3 restaurants; deli; lounge; bar; fitness center with sauna; concierge; tour desk; business center; salon; 24-hr. room service; same-day laundry service/dry cleaning; executive-level rooms
