Russian Journalists Visit Guangzhou

A delegation composed of approximately 60 journalists from China's central media and Russia's mainstream media arrived in Guangzhou, the first stop of Sino-Russia friendship tour in China, on June 9th,.

A delegation of 21 Russian journalists visited Guangzhou Martyrs' Cemetery to visit a pavilion built in 1957 commemorating the death of a Russian diplomat and his associates who lost their lives in the Guangzhou Uprising of 1927. Kirilov, Vice Chief of the Russian delegation, showed the gratitude of the visitors to the Guangzhou municipal government for the protecting afforded the cemetery where their compatriots were buried.

The delegation then went on to visit the Economic Development Zone and Guangzhou University City.

The following stops included coastal provinces and cities such as Fujian, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Jiangsu and Shangdong all of which have experienced rapid economic development since the policy of reform and opening-up in the 1978.
