Shao Shan Mao Zedong Tongzhi Jinianguan (Shao Shan Mao Zedong Museum)
Built in 2003, the highlight of the museum is undoubtedly the third-floor collection of items used by Mao during his life. The museum replaces a more extensive, stand-alone exhibition of Mao's personal items that was on the same site, but it still offers an interesting insight into the idiosyncrasies of the Great Helmsman, such as the bed that permanently slants to one side. The rest of the exhibition is concerned with Mao's exploits until liberation.
