Tengchong's first five-star hotel is impressive but empty, which is a shame because the rooms are beautifully appointed with stylish bathrooms and desks complete with Internet-ready PCs. Little English is spoken, but the location is great, with the low-rise accommodations that are a pleasant change from the glass-and-steel high-rises.
