More than 20 private enterprises in Shanghai have begun recruiting migrant employees from the quake-stricken Sichuan Province as part of a week-long job recruitment fair for private companies which opened yesterday.
Cosponsored by the Shanghai Labor and Social Security Bureau, the fair has attracted more than 2,000 private enterprises.
The recruitment campaign will offer more than 10,000 jobs to locals and those from Sichuan Province.
The bureau said they would offer employment services to the migrants from quake-hit regions for free, including providing them with up-to-date job-seeking information and career consultation.
A total of 153 enterprises offered 3,000 vacancies on the first day of the fair yesterday. Of those, more than 20 firms said they had given priority to employing migrants from Sichuan Province.
