Captain's Bar
This refined bar is so popular with Hong Kong's professional crowd, especially at the end of the working day, that the Mandarin Oriental's recent overhaul left it virtually unchanged (to have done otherwise would have unleashed a torrent of protest from the bar's fiercely loyal fans). Well known for its expertly made martinis, its pints of beer served in aluminum and silver tankards, and its weekday roast beef lunches, it's a small, intimate place, with seating at the bar or on couches. Live music begins nightly at 9pm; there's even a small dance floor for those inclined to shuffle around. It's open Monday through Saturday from 11am to 2am and Sunday 11am to 1am.
